All of our custom-made orthotic shoes, boots and sandals offer support, stability, and comfort when no other footwear will do. We can accommodate any foot shape and size as well as design and manufacture custom made men’s, women’s and children’s footwear including athletic and sport shoes.
The Custom-made Footwear Process
Can you imagine what it would be like to walk normally with next to no pain or hindrance? Our aim at Perth Surgical Shoemakers is to provide you with bespoke Custom-made footwear to help you maintain a comfortable and active lifestyle.
In order to manufacture custom-made footwear for your particular requirements, we start with a full assessment to determine your condition and needs. To ensure the custom-made shoes fit your feet perfectly, we’ll take exact measurements and if needed, take casts of your feet.
We’ll discuss the style of shoe you would prefer and give you the option of selecting the type of leather you would like us to use. Our experienced surgical shoemakers can make suggestions that are appropriate for you and individually tailor the style of your custom-made shoes to suit your personal taste.
We also discuss custom features such as orthotic insoles which may be required to accommodate foot, ankle or leg problems.
Foot Scan and Gait Analysis
Here at Perth Surgical Shoemakers and Wembley Shoes we use foot scanning and pressure mapping technology to identify pressure points. This combined with our Pedorthists expert knowledge ensures custom-made footwear and orthotics are designed to alleviate significant pressure points and pain. During the gait analysis, a special treadmill is used to analyse your biomechanics as you walk over small sensors. This information helps identify areas of concern
Personal Mould
When we create your orthopaedic shoes at Perth Surgical Shoemakers, we use your measurements and/or cast(s) to create your own personal foot mould, which is known as a ‘last’. This last can be used at a later date for subsequent footwear, as long as the style is similar to your initial selection.
We also keep detailed records of your foot issues, so we can keep track of any changes to your feet. Our footwear is made with detailed patterns, enabling us to provide you with a new pair of bespoke orthopedic shoes that we know will exactly replicate your initial custom-made shoes.
